Let’s start from the beginning… three years ago, to be precise.
In 2019, my friend and I decided to go on a girl’s trip to Madrid. We both were at a very delicate point in our lives, and we were waiting for a sign from the universe. On a cold, cloudy October day, we decided to sit on one of the most beautiful terraces in the city, crack open a bottle of wine and put our wishes out to the world.
From that moment, Madrid became the city where anything is possible for me. It transformed into a magical place, where you can express your dreams without judgement. And yes, all of our wishes did come true.
Three years after that wonderful holiday, Madrid decided to make my last wish come true.
After my trip to Marbella this summer, destiny wanted me to stop by the capital of Spain for a very important business meeting.
This city will probably become very important for me in the future. I can’t give away anything now but…. I will, I promise. All things in good time.
Anyway, let’s chat more about my magical city in this in-depth Madrid travel guide. I’ll include top tips on what to see, do, eat and where to stay in this incredible destination.
WHERE TO STAY IN MADRID
Four Seasons Canalejas
Four Seasons opened their doors to Madrid this year. The hotel is located in Puerta del Sol, in the majestic Canalejas Palace.
The best part is definitely the terrace, where you can enjoy scenic views of Madrid from the top while eating at Dani Brasserie, a restaurant run by the famous chef Dani Garcia.
The kindness of the people who work here definitely makes you feel right at home.

Mandarin Oriental Ritz
Located in front of the Retiro Parque, Mandarin Oriental and its incredible taste never disappoints.
The regal elegance of Ritz Palace is epitomised by clean white interiors and open spaces that immediately give you a sense of calm and peace.
Beauty lovers, you can’t miss this – TBC (The Beauty Concept) recently opened its concept store inside their spa! I can vouch for it as it’s personally tried, tested and approved.

Only You Madrid
The most popular boutique hotel of Madrid, located in one of the most trendy areas of the city right now. Only You is a contemporary spot that hosts many events throughout the year. The sleek modern design reflects a new luxury wave.
From breakfast to dinner, the restaurants propose an international and light cuisine that makes everybody happy.

WHERE TO EAT IN MADRID
Dani Brasserie
Dani Garcia, the famous Andalusian Chef, opened his brasserie in one of the most iconic spots of Madrid: The Four Seasons Panoramic Terrace. It’s an incredible experience made up of high quality Spanish food and a spectacular view of the city.

Amazonico
Inspired by Latin American cuisine, los madrilenos love Amazonico. The cuisine is definitely a fusion: the perfect mix between Asian, Mediterranean and Brazilian food.
Sandro Silva brings his tropical roots to create a cool and exciting experience for his clients.
Inside you’ll also find the Jazz Club, where you can listen to live music concerts and let loose.

Roots
Roots is a health bar with a super delicious, fresh menu. From the lunch bowls to the raw cakes, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients (and snap some aesthetic photos for Instagram while you’re there, of course.)
Located in Lamarca, an old place in the heart of Madrid, Roots is part of a bigger project.
Lamarca is born to unite active and curious people, integrating experiences for the body and soul.
Inside the complex, you can also find a concept store LAB LAMARCA, and a gym dedicated to the Tracy Anderson method. (Celebs love it!)

Grosso Napoletano
For all my gluten-free friends (but also everyone else): once you try Grosso Napoletano Pizza, you never go back. Trust me.
Grosso Napoletano is an Italian franchise that produces delicious pizza all over Spain.
There’s no need for me to say any more, just take my word for it, try and enjoy!

Cafe Comercial
If you want to experience some Parisian vibes in the heart of Madrid, visit Cafe Comercial.
Its retro look creates a romantic and dreamy atmosphere with a Midnight in Paris kinda vibe. Good food, great wine, cool location: what more could you want?
Don’t forget to take a picture in their traditional Polaroid photo booth before you go!

Sana Locura
Sana Locura is a gluten free bakery. No, let me rephrase that: the most delicious gluten free bakery I’ve ever tried!!
At one point, I thought the croissant wasn’t gluten free because it was way more delicious than any others I’ve eaten, so I think that must be a very good sign!

WHERE TO SHOP IN MADRID
Lab Lamarca
As I mentioned before, Lamarca has a concept store inside called LAB LAMARCA.
Inside, you can browse different fashion, lifestyle and beauty brands.
If you have time, I’d definitely recommend taking a look in the shop, treating yourself to some nice products for your self-care regime, and then stopping by the cafe for a boost of matcha!

Borow
This is a store with a difference. I absolutely love their sustainable concept: you can rent your dress, and then give it back to them when you’re done.
It’s perfect for anyone who has a wedding, a special occasion or an event coming up and wants to play with different styles, without collecting and buying pieces every single time.
The store houses an incredible collection of brands in a very feminine space. Pop in, try things on and have fun!
